What you will do
- Build : Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve. You’ll be part of a team that is end-to-end responsible for their own microservices.
- Collaborate : Work closely with product designers, product owners, front, back, and mobile engineers to share new ideas and make our processes even more efficient.
- Growth : Support our great engineering culture, by documenting and advocating for best development practices - constantly improving the quality of our products by fixing bugs and refactoring the code base where necessary.
- Learn : Boost your career by testing new technologies and participating in our Technical Week, a week dedicated to promoting creativity (after 2 product sprints), innovation, and knowledge sharing across domains.
What you’ll bring
As Software Engineer, you already understand the full life cycle of web development and see opportunities in front of you. You're curious, solution-oriented and have a strong customer focus. Our stack is mainly focused around Ruby , however, if you’re passionate about learning new things then prior experience with Ruby is not essential. Next to this :
At least, 4+ years of experience with customer-facing products in related industries, e.g. e-commerce, fintechs, SaaSAt least 4+ years with software development, in specific OOP (object-oriented programming)Experience designing, implementing, and deploying backend services, with a focus on high availability, low latency, and consistency.Good understanding of APIs designFamiliarity with SQL and relational databasesExcellent communication in EnglishComfortable raising concerns, sharing new ideas, documenting, and finding opportunities for solution alternatives.As a passionate engineer, you bring these values to Catawiki :

Our Offices and Way of Working
Our vibrant offices in Amsterdam, Paris and Lisbon are designed to inspire and connect. Most Catawikians are within commuting distance of one of our offices and enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid work model. This means that you will be in the office 2 out of 5 days (40% of your working time) to collaborate and connect with your colleagues. That said, some roles may be an exception : if the job description states that the position is fully remote or 100% office-based, that arrangement will apply instead.
