We are currently hiring for a prestigious Global Banking Institution with strong European roots and active operations in Portugal. We are seeking an experienced Finance Products Controller to join the team in Lisbon.

Mission of the Role

As a Finance Products Controller, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial and accounting data within the Capital Markets perimeter. Acting as a finance business partner, you will collaborate with various teams to strengthen accounting control frameworks, streamline processes, and contribute to the continuous improvement of finance operations.

Main Tasks of the Role

Perform Level 1 accounting controls on a designated product perimeter and ensure proper justification of reconciliations, including alignment with operations inventory and sensitive account analysis.

Maintain proactive communication with internal stakeholders (Middle Office, Back Office, and Operations), anticipating known issues ahead of period closings and managing post-closing debriefs to avoid recurrence.

Participate in and contribute to the enhancement of control frameworks and reduce manual adjustments through process improvements.

Prepare and formalize procedures, guides, and onboarding materials; actively participate in team training and knowledge sharing.

Lead or support initiatives aimed at optimizing process efficiency, system improvements, and risk mitigation across the finance chain.

Provide support to team leadership by covering parallel perimeters during absences or high-demand periods.

Requirements

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, or Accounting

Experience

3+ years of professional experience in Accounting and / or Finance, preferably in a banking or capital markets environment

Technical Skills

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Strong knowledge of accounting and financial principles

Familiarity with financial systems and data flows from Front to Back Office

Languages

Advanced level in English

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Clear and effective communication (oral and written)

Results-driven with attention to detail

Client-oriented with the ability to collaborate across departments

Ability to develop, document, and improve financial processes

Proactive mindset and adaptability in dynamic environments
