Engineer | Configuration Management and Configuration Control

We are an Engineering and Product Development Center that conceives, develops, and productizes new technologies, products, and services towards a more sustainable society.

We work by bridging cities, industry, and universities around large programs of development and industrialization of products and services, from Portugal, in high-tech sectors such as mobility, aeronautics, and space.

This opportunity for an Engineer | Configuration Management and Configuration Control - ARL (m / f / d) will be integrated into the Aeronautics area team.

  • Develop tools and methodologies to support the configuration management process.
  • Ensure compliance of processes with the configuration management plan and rules.
  • Control Part Number attributes, effectivities, and lifecycle.
  • Coordinate and track product changes and control related documents (Engineering Orders, Change Requests) during the lifecycle.
  • Establish a product structure tree for different industrialization and certification steps, with support from other areas.
  • Identify issues and propose improvements to meet configuration requirements.
  • Provide the manager with information for planning, execution, or control of technical activities, including :

The activities’ plan definition and the reporting and tracking of project task statuses.

  • Work estimates and projections.
  • Alerts for potential problems, deviations, and needs.
  • Prepare and support quality audits of established configuration processes.
  • Generate project reports and relevant certification documentation.
  • Academic background in Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautics, Mechanics, or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in product configuration management.
  • Experience with PLM tools (Enovia VPM, Teamcenter), MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), ERP (SAP) or similar.
  • Good programming skills in C++, Python, and VBA.
  • Knowledge of materials and production techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with CAD software (CATIA, Siemens NX) is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for working within a diverse team on rigorous and demanding projects, with analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
