We are seeking a talented individual to join our Global Services Delivery team at Mercer. This role will be based in Lisbon. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.The Investments Performance Reporting Team is responsible for the production of investments monitoring reports for pension funds from several Europe, which include asset allocation, performance and risk analysis, funding level monitoring, research topics and strategy updates, as well as ad-hoc projects for Mercer clients.As a People Manager, you will drive performance, coach, motivate, make decisions on performance evaluation and promotions, develop capabilities, empower your people, engage colleagues, promote an inclusive and positive work environment, help developing career paths, etc.

We will count on you to :

  • Lead and manage a team of analysts, providing mentorship, coaching, and support to team members;
  • Set clear performance goals and expectations, conduct performance reviews, and manage employee performance effectively;
  • Foster a positive team culture that encourages collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement;
  • Produce and review investments monitoring reports for pension funds with quantitative and qualitative analysis and performance appraisal;
  • Contact external entities (such as asset managers) to validate customer information;
  • Compile information and prepare analysis, evaluation and interpretation of results;
  • Acting as a peer reviewer and mentor for junior colleagues
  • Follow-up with other Mercer teams, suggesting approaches and clarifying details of Investments Analysis produced;
  • Be responsible for thorough analysis of portfolios to help stakeholders make better investment decisions;
  • Work collaboratively with other Mercer Teams by providing your Investments Technical perspective (defining methodologies, assumptions), support with client queries and leading ad-hoc projects.
  • Be an agent of change constantly contributing to improve current processes;
  • Lead the implementation of projects that will support the team to be more efficient.

What you need to have :

  • Degree or Master’s in Finance, Economics, Management, Mathematics, Engineering, or similar;
  • Proven experience in the Investments Industry (3-5 years minimum);
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills;
  • Fluent English level;
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • Ease with SQL / VBA / Python;
  • Attention to detail is critical;
  • Positive and proactive attitude;
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-performing team, supporting colleagues and clients while managing your own tasks and projects;
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly, engage, motivate and manage people, showing an empathetic and inclusive approach;
  • Strong problem-solving skills & ability to clearly articulate complex issues;
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills in order to prioritise and effectively manage a wide variety of ongoing tasks;
  • Proactive and goal oriented;

  • Fluency in other languages besides English;
