Technical Project Manager / Engineering Manager

TechRivo is a software consulting company based in Portugal but working with several European Companies.

We have Customers in Europe and Australia in projects ranging from Fintech to Education.

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Technical Project Manager / Engineering Manager with a strong background in software development and project leadership, particularly in Java-based technologies.

We are looking to build a long-term collaboration with someone passionate about technology and delivering successful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Leadership : Manage IT projects end-to-end, ensuring timely delivery, quality, and adherence to client requirements
• System Design & Architecture : Collaborate with engineering teams to discuss, design, and validate system ideas and architectures, critically evaluating potential solutions
• Team Management : Lead small to medium engineering teams, mentoring developers, resolving challenges, and fostering a collaborative environment
• Client Communication : Act as the primary point of contact for customers, providing regular project updates, addressing concerns, and managing expectations
• Code & PR Reviews : Review code pull requests for quality and adherence to best practices (hands-on coding not mandatory but occasionally needed)
• Strategic Collaboration : Work closely with the CTO to align project execution with broader organizational strategies and goals
• DevOps Understanding : Assess and advise on DevOps strategies to ensure seamless deployment pipelines and system stability
• Reporting : Prepare and deliver detailed project status reports to both internal stakeholders and clients
• Adaptability : Quickly learn and understand new technologies and frameworks when required, especially to guide teams effectively

Qualifications

Technical Expertise :

Leadership Skills : Proven ability to manage and mentor engineering teams, ensuring alignment and quality outcomes

Project Management :

Problem-Solving : Demonstrated ability to think critically, assess technical challenges, and propose effective solutions

Communication : Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration

AI Experience (Bonus) : Familiarity with AI / ML concepts and applications is a plus
