Senior Flight Dynamics Engineer

Are you passionate about space operations and flight dynamics? Randstad Digital is recruiting a Senior Flight Dynamics Engineer to join one of our international clients in the aerospace sector.

This is a remote opportunity for professionals based in Portugal, offering the chance to work on cutting-edge space missions and projects with a highly skilled, global team.

Responsabilities :

• Technical steering of Flight Dynamics software features
• Development of Flight Dynamics software features
• Contribute to spreading required domain knowledge across the company by organising knowledge sharing sessions and workshops
• Ensure appropriate and effective testing of Flight Dynamics software
• Support the Quality Assurance team in ensuring and maintaining software quality
• Engaging with customers as part of business development and customer support
• Leading the FD team to provide operational support for customers for key mission phases such as LEOP
• Strengthening position of Neuraspace as STM / SSA experts by leading / coordinating contributions to conferences
• Collaboration with the wider team including Product Owner, UI / UX, Architecture Steering Group, Solutions Architects, Frontend and Backend to ensure that flight dynamics features are correctly delivered.

Skills :

Multiple years of experience in either operational flight dynamics or SSA, including extensive software development

Knowledge and experience in Object Oriented Programming and SOLID principles

Knowledge of current SSA / STM standards and processes (e.g. CCSDS standards, space-track, conjunction analysis, etc)

Experience of key FD / SSA processes such as orbit determination, manoeuvre calculation, etc

Solid background in maths, physics, probability and statistics required for flight dynamics, SSA and STM

Proficiency with Python

Experience of operating in an agile / SCRUM environment with key tools such as CI / CD pipelines

Systems thinker able to consider wider effects of decisions in order to build system effectiveness and resiliency
