ABOUT THE ROLE :

iBASIS is seeking a highly skilled and business-oriented Legal Counsel to join our dynamic and collaborative legal team. This role is ideal for a German-speaking legal professional with a strong background in international commercial contracts, corporate governance, and compliance. Experience in privacy and regulatory matters is a significant advantage.

As Legal Counsel, you will play a key role in supporting the company’s global operations by managing a wide range of legal matters. Your primary focus will be on reviewing, drafting, and negotiating international commercial agreements. You will also advise on corporate, compliance, and regulatory issues, contributing to the company’s legal strategy and risk management in a fast-paced, international environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Draft, review, and negotiate international commercial agreements, particularly in the telecommunications sector.
  • Provide legal support on regulatory matters, including telecommunications and data protection compliance.
  • Draft and negotiate data processing agreements with clients, partners, and vendors.
  • Oversee and maintain the company’s privacy policies and ensure compliance with applicable data protection laws.
  • Support product teams with legal guidance throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Manage corporate governance for German-speaking legal entities, including preparation of Board and Shareholder meeting documentation.
  • Liaise with external counsel, regulators and other public authorities as required.
  • Perform other legal duties as assigned.

    • YOU’LL BRING :

  • A Master’s degree in Law from an accredited university.
  • 5+ years of legal experience with proven record in contract negotiation; preferably including some in-house experience with a focus on corporate law, contracts and privacy.
  • Strong knowledge of and experience in corporate governance and in document complex contractual arrangements with attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with full proficiency in English and German (mandatory).
  • Telecommunications or technology experience is not required, but definitely a plus.
