We are looking for a PHP Tech Lead to join our Client's team on a hybrid working model from Lisbon.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Act as Tech Lead for a PHP Backend Development Team on product development and maintenance activities.
  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services and web applications using PHP, Laravel, Eloquent, GraphQL, and MSSQL DB design and modeling.
  • Implement GraphQL for efficient data querying and manipulation.
  • Create well-structured, testable, and efficient code with good automated code coverage using PHPUnit.
  • Work closely with Product Owners, QA, SMEs, and other Developers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed DevOps practices within the development lifecycle.
  • Utilize Jira and GitLab for project tracking, version control, and collaboration.
  • Apply Agile development methodology to deliver iterative, high-quality software solutions.

Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience with PHP, Laravel, Eloquent, GraphQL, and SQL.
  • Proficient in database modeling and design (Microsoft SQL Server).
  • Experience with automated unit testing using PHPUnit.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI / CD pipelines.
  • Skilled in using Jira and GitLab; familiarity with SonarQube is a plus.
  • Proficient in Agile environments with a collaborative mindset.
  • Passionate about optimizing development workflows with the latest AI technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and clear, fluent communication in English (spoken and written).
