Audax Renewables is recruiting a Head of Legal

We are looking for a sole Head of Legal to join our team in Portugal, providing legal advice on our operations in the electricity (and possible future gas) sector. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in energy and commercial law, regulatory compliance and commercial risk management, with the ability to advise on contracts, corporate governance and regulatory issues in a dynamic and constantly evolving environment. The ideal candidate must also be familiar with, and have experience in Compliance, as they will be responsible for leading all issues related to the legal area across the board, being the only legal professional in the area working at Audax Portugal. You will need to have excellent communication skills, the ability to innovate, take the initiative and prioritize. A strong ability to take control and meet demanding and challenging deadlines are essential to ensure success in the role.

Academic Requirements :

Duties :

Regulatory Compliance : ensuring that the company complies with Portugal and EU energy regulations, including market rules, licensing and environmental requirements.

Contract Management : Drafting, reviewing and negotiating power purchase agreements, grid connection contracts and supply agreements.

Corporate and Commercial Law : Advising on corporate governance

Complaint, Litigation and Dispute Resolution : Identifying and managing legal risks, monitoring disputes and supporting alternative dispute resolution strategies, managing customer and third party complaints.

Regulatory and Stakeholder Relations : Interaction with regulatory authorities, industry bodies and government entities on policy and compliance matters.

Risk Assessment : Identifying and mitigating legal risks related to operations, investments and business strategy.

Managing the company's complaints channel : analyzing, managing and resolving any complaints received from start to finish, in conjunction with the Compliance area.
