General Ledger Analyst

You will work in a team of domain experts, in which your tasks include clarification of accounting issues, analysis of errors, initiation of any necessary corrections and involvement in process improvement activities or initiatives, if needed with support from the General Ledger Senior Analyst.

You will take ownership of daily General Ledger transactions and month-end-closing activities and ensure they are recorded in a timely and accurate manner, in accordance with IFRS and local GAAP quality standards or any other relevant regulations and guidelines.

You will be expected to collaborate and build strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders such as regional accounting hubs, local business teams, and other partners within Siemens Energy’s global communities.

Listen actively and continuously focused on stakeholder requests, managing complex and uncertain operational issues, while decisively moving forward in taking ownership of decisions, together with the General Ledger Senior Analyst.

Share best practices with all relevant stakeholders.

• The month-end closing will be your primary responsibility. This involves orchestrating various closing activities such as Inventory Reevaluation, Foreign Currency valuation, GR / IR, and preparing the consolidated financial data that will be reported to our Head Quarters.
• In your day-to-day responsibilities, you will be tasked with booking in the company’s ledger accounts, preparation of monthly audit controls, accounts reconciliation and more.
• Continuous improvement, learning, and problem-solving will be integral parts of your agenda.
• You will also be involved in supporting testing, data migration, processing documentation, and other materials.
• You enjoy expanding your knowledge and are interested to learn more about Trade Finance; previous knowledge about Treasury, Trade Finance, Corporate Finance or Banking is a plus.
• 5+ years of professional experience in an international company, ideally with working experience in a multi-cultural background. You have a very good understanding of and high affinity for IT technologies and system administration.
• You have very good knowledge of Excel and SAP. Programming skills (e.g., Visual Basic, Python) and knowledge about Robotics Process Automation would be a plus.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a highly demanding and dynamic environment as well as ability to work collaboratively across functions, regions, and cultures.
• You are fluent in English; German knowledge is a plus.
