Head of School

EDEN Montessori International School is a Bilingual (English and Portuguese) institution located in the picturesque Algarve region of Portugal. We provide a Children's House (Casa) for ages 3-6 and Elementary for ages 6-12. Our school offers the IB PYP qualification through authentic Montessori Philosophy and environments.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role located in Albufeira for the Head of School. The Head of School will oversee the daily operations of the school, including curriculum development, staff management, and community outreach. They will ensure adherence to IB and Montessori principles, mentor educators, and engage with parents and stakeholders to foster a nurturing educational environment. They will have a collaborative style and be a team player who encourages and mentors staff and students.

Qualifications / Skills

• Curriculum Development and Educational Leadership skills
• Experience in Education and strong Communication skills
• Research skills to stay updated with educational trends and practices
• Policy development, statutory compliance for all stakeholders
• Proven experience in a leadership role within an educational setting
• Exceptional organisation and communication skills
• Montessori Certification is highly desirable
• Fluency in English and Portuguese is preferred
• Master’s degree in Education or related field is preferred
