Senior Software Engineer

Overview

Senior Software Engineer urgently required by a fast growth US tech firm opening their first office in Portugal.

This is a really exciting opportunity to be one of the first members of the team based in their brand-new tech hub in central Porto, working on using cutting edge AI to deliver a future-proof cloud platform. The Senior Software Engineer will sit within the integrations team and will be expected to have previously delivered multiple products at large scale. The Porto team will be working in conjunction with the US tech team, and therefore strong communication skills are essential.

This is a hybrid role, and you would be expected to be in the office 2-3 days per week. Company benefits include Private medical cover, Meal allowance, and equity within the business.

Responsibilities

Lead and contribute to the development of backend services within the integrations team. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams in Porto and the US to deliver scalable, reliable software. Ensure effective communication across time zones and teams.

Requirements

• 6+ years’ experience within software development focused on backend, ideally with strong knowledge of Ruby on Rails
• Database knowledge (SQL, Redis)
• RESTful APIs – Designing and maintaining
• Understanding of cloud platforms, and containerization
• Happy to work in a fast-paced environment

Compensation and Benefits
