The Challenge: A New Finance SSC in Lisbon

To support its continuous growth and strategic vision, the company is building a brand-new Finance Shared Services Center (SSC) in Lisbon. This hub will become the engine of their international operations, centralizing key transactional processes (such as Accounting and Credit Management)for Europe and North America.

About the Job

The Credit Analyst will support the Order-to-Cash (O2C) credit management process within the

Shared Service Center. This role is responsible for assessing the creditworthiness of customers

across multiple markets, evaluating financial and non‐financial risk, and recommending appropriate credit limits and terms. The Credit Analyst ensures compliance with global credit policies, minimizes financial exposure, and contributes to maintaining a healthy receivables portfolio.

In an SSC environment, this role collaborates closely with internal teams (O2C, Collections,

Customer Service, Sales) to ensure smooth credit approvals and consistent service delivery.

Key responsibilities

Credit Assessment & Analysis

● Conduct detailed financial and credit analysis for new and existing customers across

assigned regions.

● Review financial statements, credit bureau reports, payment histories, and other supporting documents as part of the credit evaluation process.

● Develop accurate customer risk profiles and recommend credit limits, payment terms, or risk mitigation actions.

● Evaluate non‐financial indicators (market conditions, customer behavior, sector trends) to

support credit decisions.

Portfolio Monitoring

● Monitor customer accounts proactively to detect changes in risk level, early warning signals, or deterioration in credit quality.

● Perform periodic credit reviews in line with global policies and customer segmentation.

● Maintain visibility on overdue trends and collaborate with Collections to prevent escalation of

risk.

Compliance & Reporting

● Ensure adherence to global and local credit policies, internal controls, and regulatory

requirements.

● Prepare comprehensive credit reports and present findings to management and relevant stakeholders.

● Maintain accurate and up‐to‐date credit documentation and audit‐ready records.

Cross-functional Collaboration

● Work closely with Sales, Customer Service, and O2C teams to understand commercial needs

and propose balanced credit solutions.

● Support cross-regional SSC initiatives aimed at improving credit-to-cash performance and

harmonizing processes.

● Provide insights to improve credit policies and contribute to continuous improvement

projects.

Market & Industry Analysis

● Conduct market research to identify sector-specific risks affecting customers.

● Monitor macroeconomic trends that may impact customer liquidity and business stability.

Key competencies

● Strong financial analysis capability, including ratio interpretation and cash‐flow assessment.

● Solid understanding of credit scoring methodologies and risk assessment frameworks.

● Advanced Excel skills for modeling, scenario analysis, and dashboards.

● Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and credit management tools.

● Knowledge of credit policies, financial compliance, and risk mitigation tools.

● Understanding of O2C processes within an SSC.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

● Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field.

● Professional certifications (CFA, FRM) are an advantage but not required.

Experience

● Prior experience in credit analysis, financial risk assessment, or credit control—preferably in

an SSC or multinational environment.

● Knowledge of credit structures, lending principles, and compliance standards.

● Experience working with large customer portfolios and multinational markets is a plus.

● Familiarity with macroeconomic indicators impacting credit risk.
