Marketing Lead (m/f/d) About Stratio Stratio keeps public transport running. We monitor fleet health in real time and tell the world's largest operators exactly what's going to fail before it does. We're a small, technical team of about 50 people. There's no marketing department. You'd be building it. The role Our go-to-market runs on industry events. You own them end to end, and the content, the website and the automation around them. This is a hands-on, one-person marketing function. No team to manage. You’ll brief a stand builder, a film crew, a designer or a PR freelancer when the work calls for them, and do everything else yourself. You do the work. You own the output. You use every tool available - especially LLMs and automation - to do the work of an entire department. You’ll report directly to leadership and work closely with sales and product. If you've ever been the only marketing person at a company and thrived, this is for you. What your weeks look like Events and speaking Events are a major focus of this role. You run the event calendar: the shows where we exhibit, the conferences where we speak, and our own customer roundtables, on-site events at client sites and client advisory board. For each stand: the booking, the design, the build contract, logistics, staffing, the run of show and the debrief. For each talk: the abstract, the co-speaker, the deadline, the deck, the rehearsal. After every event you report meetings held against meetings booked, deals generated and deals impacted, and you follow up with the leads generated in cooperation with our sales team to ensure event leads become opportunities in our pipeline. Content creation You write and publish case studies, blog posts, landing pages, LinkedIn posts, one-pagers, and sales enablement materials. You produce our benchmark report with engineering, the abstracts and decks for our speakers, and the trade-press pushes around them. You take raw inputs - a customer success metric, a product update, a conversation with a customer - and turn them into compelling stories. You use LLMs daily to draft, iterate, and repurpose content across formats and channels. You move fast without sacrificing quality. Website ownership You manage and update the website. New pages, copy changes, landing pages for campaigns, event pages and meeting-booking pages. You’re comfortable in a CMS. You don’t file a ticket to change a headline, you just do it. You optimize for both traditional SEO and LLM discoverability, making sure that when someone asks “what’s the best predictive maintenance product,” Stratio shows up in the answer. Campaigns and demand generation You plan and execute campaigns to build our pipeline. They’re designed around the event calendar: the outreach that fills the meeting schedule before each show and the follow-up after it, webinars between events, LinkedIn content, paid only to named accounts, co-marketing with partners. You draw up the account list for each event with sales, run the outreach and fill the calendar. You set up tracking, measure what works, and kill what doesn’t. You think in terms of pipeline contribution. Sales enablement You build the materials that help the sales team close. Pitch decks, case studies, proposal templates. You sit close to sales conversations and notice when the same objection keeps coming up, then you build something to handle it. Analytics and reporting You set up and maintain marketing analytics. Per event: meetings held against booked, deals generated, deals impacted, what the field taught us and what we change because of it. Website traffic, content performance, email metrics. In the end how much pipeline we’ve generated, from which channels. You also can explain in simple terms what’s working, what’s not, and why. You don’t need a BI team to pull numbers. Automation and tooling You build workflows that save time. Email sequences, content distribution, lead scoring, social scheduling, speaker deadlines, meeting booking, post-event follow-up. You use LLMs, no-code tools / light scripting to automate repetitive work. You’re always looking for the next thing that should be a workflow instead of manual effort. What we’re looking for Must have: 3 to 7 years in B2B marketing, ideally with some exposure to technical or industrial products You’ve run B2B trade show or conference presence end to end at least twice: negotiated the space, briefed the stand builder, pre-booked the meetings, ran the floor, did the follow-up and reported the result You’ve secured speaking slots through calls for papers or curated programmes, ideally with a customer on stage You’ve run account-based outreach to a named list, with sales, and can show what it produced Strong writing skills - you can explain complex technical value clearly and without jargon Daily, fluent use of LLMs as real working tools, not "I use ChatGPT to brainstorm" Comfortable updating a website in a CMS without help Comfort with data: you set up tracking, read dashboards, and make decisions based on numbers Self-direction: you don’t wait to be told what to do next Comfortable with travel: you attend every event on the calendar, which means one trip almost every month, mostly in Europe, some long-haul. Strong plus: You’ve run a customer advisory board, a customer roundtable programme or a reference programme Website skills beyond the CMS: basic HTML/CSS, SEO fundamentals, and awareness of LLM optimization Experience with automation tools (Make, Zapier, n8n) or basic scripting (Python, JavaScript) Background in mobility/transport, IoT, or industrial tech Experience marketing to enterprise buyers with long sales cycles Design skills (Figma, Canva) for quick asset creation What this is not This is not a brand strategy role. It’s not a “manage agencies and review decks” role: you'll brief a stand builder, a film crew, a designer or a PR freelancer when the work needs them, and you'll do the rest yourself. It’s not a role where you spend three months building a brand book before producing anything. You’ll be creating and shipping from week one. It’s not a pure events role either. A stand only pays if the meetings were booked before the show, the case study on the table is good and the follow-up lands. The content, the website and the automation are what make the events work. Why this is interesting You'd own marketing entirely. No team inherited, no playbook to follow, at a company with real customers, real revenue, and a product that genuinely works. The case studies write themselves: 66% towing reduction, 25% spare fleet reduction, 20% fewer on-road breakdowns. The challenge isn’t inventing a story. It’s telling it well, to the right people, at the right time. You’d have the autonomy to build the marketing function your way, with a leadership team that understands the value of modern, technical, AI-native marketing.
