Backend Software Engineer (.NET) [Hybrid Maia, Portugal]

Tasks

About the Role

We are looking for a Backend Engineer to join an international engineering team focused on developing and maintaining modern backend applications.

In this role you will build scalable backend services develop microservices and APIs contribute to application reliability and collaborate with experienced engineers to continuously improve software quality and development practices. This position is ideal for a hands-on engineer with experience who enjoys working in collaborative agile environments.

Location: Maia Portugal (Hybrid 2 days/week)

Responsibilities

• Develop maintain and enhance backend applications using C# .
• Build and maintain scalable microservices and REST APIs.
• Implement asynchronous and parallel processing solutions using Task Parallel Library (TPL).
• Develop integrations using messaging technologies such as Kafka RabbitMQ Solace or similar platforms.
• Work with Docker containers and contribute to CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions Azure DevOps or similar tools.
• Implement logging monitoring tracing and observability best practices.
• Apply SOLID principles Design Patterns and Domain-Driven Design (DDD) in software development.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality reliable software solutions.
• Troubleshoot technical issues optimize application performance and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of professional experience with C# development.
• Experience building and maintaining microservices and REST APIs.
• Practical experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka RabbitMQ Solace or similar.
• Strong knowledge of asynchronous programming and Task Parallel Library (TPL).
• Experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions Azure DevOps or similar).
• Familiarity with logging observability and tracing tools such as OpenTelemetry Grafana and Prometheus.
• Good understanding of SOLID principles Design Patterns and Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills and collaborative mindset.
• Commitment to software quality and continuous improvement.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Kubernetes (AKS OpenShift or GKE).
• Experience applications to Kubernetes environments.
• Knowledge of Helm Charts and Kubernetes deployment practices.
• Experience working with cloud platforms.
• Experience contributing to shared frameworks internal SDKs or engineering platforms.
