Risk & Internal Audit Senior Consultant

We are currently looking for a Senior Consultant to join our Risk & Internal Audit practice in Portugal. This role offers the opportunity to work with leading organizations across a wide range of industries, supporting them in transforming their risk management, internal control, and internal audit functions.

Professionals with experience or interest in areas such as Technology Risk, IT Controls, Cybersecurity Governance, Digital Risk, Data & Analytics Controls, and Digital Transformation Risk are also encouraged to apply, as these capabilities increasingly intersect with our clients' broader risk agendas.

Your key responsibilities

As a Senior Consultant within our Risk Consulting team, you will be responsible for:

• Delivering projects in the areas of Enterprise Risk Management, Internal Control and Internal Audit.
• Assessing governance frameworks, risk management processes and control environments.
• Supporting the execution of internal audit engagements and control effectiveness assessments.
• Advising clients on the design and implementation of risk management and internal control frameworks.
• Contributing to risk transformation initiatives, including technology-enabled risk and control solutions.
• Identifying process improvement opportunities and providing practical recommendations to clients.
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships through high-quality service delivery.
• Supporting business development activities and contributing to proposal preparation and market initiatives.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across EY service lines to deliver innovative and integrated solutions.

To qualify for the role, you must have

• Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Business, Economics, Management, Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, Accounting or related fields.
• At least 3-5 years of relevant professional experience in Internal Audit, Internal Controls, Risk Management, Technology Risk, Digital Risk or related areas.
• Experience with Internal Audit and Internal Control frameworks such as IIA Standards, COSO, ICFR and SOX.
• Knowledge of Enterprise Risk Management methodologies, including ISO 31000 and COSO ERM.
• Experience assessing operational, financial and/or technology-related risks.
• Strong project management and stakeholder management skills.
• Professional proficiency in Portuguese and English.
