About the Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to design, implement and roll out corporate applications within a cloud-based data analytics environment.

You will collaborate with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to understand requirements and transform them into scalable data solutions. The position includes data integration, ETL development, data modelling, performance optimization and the continuous improvement of existing applications.

The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong technical knowledge of the Microsoft Azure ecosystem, with hands-on experience in services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake and Azure Databricks.

A strong understanding of Data Warehousing and Data Modeling concepts, including Star Schema, Snowflake Schema and Data Vault methodologies, is also important for this position.

Experience with analytics and reporting platforms such as Power BI, Qlik or equivalent tools will be highly valued.

This is an excellent opportunity for a data professional with strong Microsoft Azure expertise and a solid understanding of ERP, logistics or Supply Chain Management processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement and roll out corporate IT applications in a cloud-based data analytics environment.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to gather and analyse requirements.
• Translate functional and technical requirements into reliable data solutions.
• Design, implement and maintain data integrations and ETL processes.
• Develop and optimize workflows for large datasets.
• Create and maintain data models in Data Lake and Cloud Data Warehouse environments.
• Apply Data Warehousing and Data Modeling best practices to scalable data solutions.
• Perform application and query performance tuning.
• Maintain, support and continuously improve existing data applications.
• Develop data visualizations and reports using Power BI and related BI technologies.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and identify effective solutions.
• Ensure the scalability, reliability and quality of data solutions.

Mandatory Requirements

• At least five years of professional experience as a Data Engineer working with cloud solutions.
• Strong hands-on experience with the Microsoft Azure ecosystem.
• Practical experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake and Azure Databricks.
• Strong understanding of ERP processes, particularly logistics and Supply Chain Management.
• Strong knowledge of Data Warehousing and Data Modeling concepts.
• Knowledge and practical understanding of Star Schema, Snowflake Schema and Data Vault methodologies.
• Experience working with Data Lakes or Cloud Data Warehouses.
• Experience processing and managing large datasets.
• Strong programming skills in at least one of the following: Python, PySpark, Java or SQL.
• Experience designing and implementing ETL processes, data integrations and data workflows.
• Hands-on experience with analytics and reporting platforms such as Power BI, Qlik or equivalent tools.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• Availability to work from the Porto office once per week.

Nice to Have

• Experience with full-stack development.
• Knowledge of machine learning and artificial intelligence technologies.
• Experience with SAP Business Warehouse.
• Knowledge of SAP Analytics Cloud.
• Experience with SAP Datasphere.
• Previous experience developing data solutions for logistics or Supply Chain Management.
• Familiarity with additional Business Intelligence technologies.

The Ideal Profile

The ideal candidate is an experienced Data Engineer with a strong background in cloud-based data platforms and solid hands-on expertise across the Microsoft Azure data ecosystem, particularly Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake and Azure Databricks.

You are confident designing data models, building ETL processes and working with Data Lake and Cloud Data Warehouse architectures. You also have a solid understanding of Data Warehousing and Data Modeling approaches, including Star Schema, Snowflake Schema and Data Vault.

Experience with analytics and reporting solutions such as Power BI, Qlik or equivalent platforms is highly valued.

You understand how ERP, logistics and Supply Chain Management processes generate and consume data and can translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

You are analytical, customer-oriented and proactive, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with business and technical teams.
