About The Role Financial Crime Operations is at the forefront of Revolut’s efforts to keep customers and their money safe. Team members work directly with customers to resolve issues and flag potential concerns. Using cutting‑edge technology and sharp attention to detail, they help prevent financial crime and keep trust at the core of Revolut.
We’re looking for a Head of Financial Crime Operations to lead and manage the 1LoD FinCrime function for Revolut Bank UAB and its branches. The role involves identifying financial crime threats, implementing effective processes, and ensuring operational compliance across Europe.
Responsibilities
Ensure Revolut Bank UAB implements risk mitigation practices against legal and procedural non‑compliance, including fraud, AML/CTF, and sanctions.
Identify and implement preventative tools and measures to manage financial crime, operational, and outsourcing risks.
Manage the 1LoD FinCrime Operations team, ensuring staff possess necessary expertise, skills and knowledge.
Advise COO, Head of Financial Crime Compliance, Chief Compliance Officer, and Board on operations frameworks.
Supervise corrections of operational irregularities and report progress to management.
Investigate instances of operational and outsourcing issues within the FinCrime department, taking immediate action to ensure compliance.
Consult on risks relating to new products, processes, services, and business decisions impacting EEA operations.
Develop and maintain FinCrime operations control frameworks and risk assessment frameworks in line with EBA guidelines.
Ensure AML/CTF standards for customer lifecycle are executed effectively and efficiently.
Supervise outsourced FinCrime activities and service level agreements, ensuring adherence to internal requirements and legislation.
Requirements
A bachelor's degree.
A relevant master's degree or professional qualification from an internationally recognised body (e.g., ICA or ACAMS).
5+ years of experience in compliance and financial crime within a regulated financial services firm.
Team management skills, including the ability to oversee compliance and control activities within a global payment processing environment.
Fluency in English.
Solid operational knowledge and business acumen to support Revolut’s growth strategy.
In‑depth knowledge of systems and controls.
Expertise within prudential and financial conduct supervision, as well as the European and Lithuanian legal and regulatory environment.
Understanding of fraud/ML/TF risks for financial institutions.
Problem‑solving and decision‑making skills, with the ability to analyse complex information to identify key issues and drive resolution.
Nice to Have
Experience in identifying, assessing, and managing fraud/ML/TF risks.
Robust legal acumen with the capability to understand and implement legal requirements into internal documentation and technical solution requirements.
