About the Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Domain Architect to define and drive the target architecture for the Aftermarket & Sales domain within a large-scale automotive technology environment.

This is a strategic role connecting business priorities, technology capabilities and enterprise architecture standards. You will shape architecture roadmaps, govern key technical decisions and guide projects through cloud adoption, application modernisation and long-term digital transformation.

The position offers the opportunity to influence a complex enterprise landscape, advise senior technical and business stakeholders and establish a consistent architectural direction across multiple initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Own, maintain and continuously evolve the target architecture for the Aftermarket & Sales domain.
• Translate business strategy and requirements into architecture roadmaps, capabilities and technology decisions.
• Govern architectural decisions and ensure alignment with enterprise standards and principles.
• Review and guide solution architectures across programmes and projects.
• Ensure project deliverables remain aligned with the overall domain architecture strategy.
• Drive application standardisation, simplification, rationalisation and modernisation.
• Maintain a clear view of the application and technology landscape within the assigned domain.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, domain leads, Enterprise Architects, Solution Architects and project teams.
• Provide architectural guidance across people, processes and technology, particularly for cloud initiatives.
• Act as a trusted advisor to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Promote architecture best practices and mentor project teams.
• Provide knowledge sharing, coaching and upskilling in cloud and architecture topics.

Cloud Architecture and Transformation

• Support cloud adoption and transformation initiatives across the domain.
• Define and communicate cloud technology strategies, principles and best practices.
• Advise projects on appropriate migration approaches, including:
• Lift-and-shift
• Re-platforming
• Re-architecting
• Recommend architecture options aligned with cloud-native and enterprise best practices.
• Support the evaluation and selection of appropriate Azure or AWS services.
• Ensure that cloud solutions meet scalability, integration, governance, security and long-term sustainability requirements.
• Promote consistent architectural direction across cloud transformation initiatives.

Mandatory Requirements

• At least 7 years of professional experience in Enterprise, Domain or Solution Architecture.
• Experience participating in large-scale enterprise transformation programmes.
• Strong knowledge of Enterprise Architecture, Domain Architecture and Solution Architecture.
• Proven ability to translate business strategies and requirements into target architectures and roadmaps.
• Experience with application, integration and cloud architecture.
• Strong knowledge of architecture governance, standards, principles and decision processes.
• Professional experience with Azure and/or AWS.
• Knowledge of APIs, systems integration and event-driven architecture.
• Familiarity with enterprise platforms such as ERP, CRM and data platforms.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to lead, influence, coach and mentor technical teams.
• Strong analytical thinking, conceptual ability and problem-solving skills.
• Strategic vision combined with adaptability and pragmatic decision-making.
• Fluent English.
• Availability to work from the Porto or Vila Nova de Gaia office once per week.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the automotive, mobility, manufacturing, sales or aftermarket domains.
• Familiarity with architecture modelling and enterprise landscape management tools such as LeanIX.
• Experience with application portfolio management and rationalisation.
• Knowledge of ArchiMate or similar architecture modelling standards.
• Experience working with distributed, international or multicultural teams.
• Understanding of cloud governance, security and cost optimisation.
• Experience defining architecture principles, reference architectures and technology standards.
• Knowledge of Agile at Scale or SAFe environments.

Certifications are valued but may be balanced by strong and demonstrable professional experience.

The ideal candidate is a strategic and pragmatic architect who can connect business objectives with scalable technology decisions.

You are comfortable owning a domain architecture, defining long-term roadmaps and governing solutions across several projects. You can move between executive-level conversations and detailed architectural discussions involving applications, integrations, data and cloud services.

You bring strong Azure or AWS knowledge and can confidently advise teams on cloud migration, modernisation and service-selection strategies. You communicate clearly, build alignment between stakeholders and provide constructive guidance without losing sight of delivery realities.

You are also an effective mentor who promotes architecture standards, shares knowledge and helps teams make consistent, sustainable decisions.
