Depositary Banking Officer
We are hiring a Depositary Banking Officer to support the supervisory activities of the depositary bank, ensuring regulatory compliance, monitoring fund operations, and verifying the duties of the management entity.
The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in data processing tools, as the information received follows defined patterns.
Main Responsibilities
Monitor compliance with the legal and regulatory framework applicable to Investment Funds and Depositary Bank activities.
Perform depositary oversight controls over funds, transactions, cash flows, and assets.
Review and validate information received from management companies, identifying exceptions, inconsistencies, and potential breaches.
Monitor compliance with investment policies, regulatory limits, and fund-specific rules.
Interpret CMVM requirements and translate them into control procedures, monitoring routines and supervisory frameworks.
Contribute to the automation and digitalization of supervisory, control and reporting processes.
Develop dashboards, key risk indicators, and alert mechanisms to support risk-based oversight.
Support incident investigations, audits, regulatory inspections, and remediation initiatives.
Requirements
3 to 5 years of professional experience in Depositary Bank activities, Investment Funds, Compliance, Risk Management, Audit, or similar functions within the financial sector.
Understanding of the regulatory framework applicable to Investment Funds and Depositary Banks.
Advanced Excel skills (Power Query, pivot tables, complex formulas, and automation).
Experience with Power BI or similar data visualization and reporting tools.
Knowledge of SQL and structured data formats (CSV, XML and JSON).
Experience in automating processes.
Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
Strong analytical mindset and critical thinking capabilities.
High level of accuracy, attention to detail and documentation discipline.
Ability to interpret regulations and apply them to operational and supervisory activities.
Good understanding of financial instruments, asset valuation, and different fund structures.
Knowledge of internal controls, risk assessment, and exception management.
Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on process optimization and automation.
Strong communication skills and ability to interact with management companies, regulators, and internal stakeholders.
Self-motivation, proactivity, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a highly regulated environment.
