Aron Light / Yellow
Role Overview
We are looking for a Head of Specification & Architectural Lighting to develop and strengthen the presence of Aron Light and Yellow within the specification market.
The role will focus on building long-term relationships with architects, engineering firms, lighting designers, municipalities, developers and other project stakeholders , positioning the most appropriate solutions from either Aron Light or Yellow depending on the project.
The person will be responsible for identifying projects at an early stage, developing specification opportunities and working with specifiers throughout the project lifecycle, from concept and design through tender and execution.
Alongside specification development, the role will also contribute to the development of our architectural lighting portfolio, particularly within the Yellow brand.
Key Responsibilities
Specification & Market Development
- Develop and implement the specification strategy for Aron Light and Yellow
- Build strong relationships with architects, lighting designers, engineering firms, municipalities, developers, project managers and consultants
- Proactively visit architectural and engineering practices to present Aron Light and Yellow solutions
- Identify relevant projects at an early stage and build a strong pipeline of specification opportunities
- Understand each project's requirements and propose the most appropriate solution from the Aron Light or Yellow portfolio
- Work directly with architects, engineers and lighting designers to have our products included in project specifications
- Follow projects from concept and design through tender, procurement and execution
- Organise technical presentations, product demonstrations, workshops and training sessions for specifiers
- Work closely with the commercial team to convert specifications into orders
- Develop and maintain a strong professional network within the architecture, engineering and construction sectors
Architectural Lighting & Project Support
- Support architects, lighting designers and engineers with lighting concepts and product selection
- Provide technical guidance for architectural and technical lighting applications
- Develop or coordinate lighting calculations and project-specific solutions
- Recommend suitable luminaires, optics, colour temperatures, controls and accessories
- Provide technical support throughout the design, specification and tender phases
Product & Portfolio Development
- Contribute to the development of the architectural lighting portfolio, particularly for Yellow
- Identify market needs through direct contact with architects, designers and engineers
- Translate market feedback into new product opportunities
- Participate in defining product specifications, optics, finishes, accessories and control options
- Work with internal teams and manufacturing partners on new product development
- Ensure the portfolio remains competitive from a design, technical and commercial perspective
Brand Development
- Strengthen the position of Aron Light and Yellow within the professional specification market
- Help establish Yellow as a recognised architectural lighting brand
- Ensure both brands are properly represented to architects, engineers and lighting designers
- Contribute to technical documentation, catalogues, BIM files, photometric data and project materials
- Represent Aron Light and Yellow at industry events, professional meetings and specification-focused initiatives
Profile
We are looking for someone with experience in architectural lighting, specification or project-based lighting sales .
Relevant backgrounds may include:
- Architectural lighting manufacturers
- Lighting design studios
- Specification sales
- Lighting consultancies
- Engineering or architectural environments with strong lighting experience
Previous experience working directly with architects, engineering consultants, lighting designers, municipalities or developers will be particularly valuable.
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of architectural and technical lighting
- Understanding of lighting design, optics and photometrics
- Experience with specification and project development
- Ability to build strong professional relationships
- Commercial mindset combined with technical credibility
- Comfortable presenting solutions to architects, engineers and other professional audiences
