Position: Bilingual Portuguese STEM Expert (PhD) — AI Safety
Type: Contract
Compensation: $50–$54/hour
Location: Remote
Commitment: 20+ hours/week
Role Responsibilities
- Write expert-level prompts in Portuguese across specialized scientific topics.
- Evaluate and annotate model responses for scientific accuracy and helpfulness.
- Apply structured guidelines to classify prompts and conversations.
- Strengthen model handling of sensitive content in Portuguese.
- Work independently and asynchronously to meet deadlines.
Qualifications
Must-Have
- PhD in chemistry, biology, or a closely related field.
- Native or near-native fluency in Portuguese.
- Business-level written English.
- Deep familiarity with modern laboratory and computational techniques.
- Sound judgment around scientific safety and dual-use information.
Preferred
- Based in Portugal or Western Europe.
- Expertise in radiochemistry, nuclear chemistry, or related fields.
- Depth in subfields like organic synthesis, molecular biology, or virology.
- Experience with chemical safety, biosafety, or hazardous-materials handling.
- Experience reviewing or red-teaming technical content.
