Nokia Technology Standards, the 3GPP research and patent licensing entity, is hiring a

(Senior) Patent Counsel

to join its in-house patenting team in

Bengaluru, Karnataka, India . This full-time role focuses on building Nokia's patent portfolio for 6th generation cellular communication systems (6G) standardized within 3GPP. Key Eligibility Criteria

Education:

Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunication, Computer Science, Physics/Mathematics, or equivalent field. Qualifications:

Qualified European Patent attorney, or passed multiple papers of the European Qualifying Examination, or US Patent Attorney/Agent. Experience:

Experience with telecom and computer-implemented patent applications and prosecution. Preferred:

Experience with 3GPP related technologies, standard-essential patents (SEPs), and strong stakeholder management skills. Responsibilities & Scope of Work

Drafting standard-related patent applications in-house and with external patent attorneys. Prosecuting patent applications globally, both in-house and with external counsel. Evaluating filed patent applications, reviewing claim charts, and assessing patent validity to optimize prosecution strategies. Collaborating closely with the internal inventor community and external associates. Contributing to pilot activities for new work practices and tools. Stipend & Compensation
