About the Opportunity
We are looking for a Senior Data Architect to define domain and enterprise data architectures, enabling analytics and AI through governed, reusable data products. This is an individual contributor position with architectural authority for assigned domains, mentoring responsibilities, and no direct reports.
Responsibilities
- Own conceptual, logical, and physical domain models, contribute to the enterprise model, and define Lakehouse modelling standards.
- Collaborate with product teams to define sources, business rules, attributes, consumers, and data contracts covering schemas, semantics, quality expectations, and service levels.
- Design end-to-end data flows and integration patterns using APIs, streaming, batch, CDC, and SAP integrations; support legacy reporting modernization.
- Design semantic models, support ontology and knowledge graph initiatives, and advise AI teams on vector, graph-based, and hybrid retrieval architectures.
- Apply entity-resolution standards and master/reference data strategies, ensuring privacy, security, and governance by design.
- Lead modelling workshops, design reviews, governance and exception management; guide Data Engineers and Analytics Engineers.
Requirements
- Minimum 4 years in Data Engineering, Data Modelling, or Data Architecture, including at least 2 years as a Data or Solution Architect.
- Strong domain and enterprise architecture knowledge, including dimensional, normalized, and Data Vault modelling.
- Experience with enterprise-scale Lakehouse and Medallion architectures, Databricks, Unity Catalog, and Azure Data Services.
- Ability to design reusable domain-oriented data products, data contracts, and source-to-consumer integrations.
- Knowledge of metadata catalogues, business glossaries, lineage, stewardship, data quality, and governance tooling.
- Ability to facilitate requirements workshops, negotiate trade-offs, and communicate architecture decisions within Agile, cross-functional delivery.
- Relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred: SAP-centric environments, S/4HANA, BW, Business Data Cloud; payments, financial services, B2B or mobility; semantic modelling, ontologies, taxonomies, knowledge graphs, MDM, Entity Resolution, RAG, Vector Search, Hybrid Retrieval, TOGAF; relevant master’s degree or architecture/cloud certifications.
Ideal Candidate Profile
An autonomous, analytical architect passionate about Analytics and AI, able to simplify complex designs and resolve architectural trade-offs. Comfortable providing technical leadership without people-management responsibilities and collaborating across Product, Engineering, Governance, Enterprise Architecture, and IT.
