Job title : Health & Safety Coordinator (Solar PV Project, Portugal)

Duration : Longterm contract

We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Coordinator to support a major 50MWp Solar PV construction project in Trancoso and Sernancelhe, Portugal. This role is focused on overseeing health, safety, and environmental compliance across the civil, electrical, and mechanical scopes.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Owner, ensuring EPC contractor performance aligns with Portuguese HS&E legislation and project standards. Responsibilities include reviewing and monitoring HS&E plans, conducting regular site safety inspections, overseeing accident investigations, and evaluating emergency response readiness.

Role & Responsibilities :

Support the Owner in preparing, updating, and submitting HS&E prior notices.

Advise on legal responsibilities under Portuguese HS&E legislation.

Review and oversee the EPC contractor’s HS&E plan, ensuring compliance with project and regulatory standards.

Conduct routine safety inspections alongside site inspections.

Monitor accident investigation and reporting processes, ensuring proper documentation and corrective actions.

Assess and review the EPC contractor’s emergency response plans, recommending improvements where necessary.

Maintain clear communication and reporting with stakeholders on all HS&E matters.

Candidate Profile :

Proven HS&E coordination experience on large-scale infrastructure / renewable projects

Strong knowledge of Portuguese HS&E legislation

Ability to work independently and maintain site presence

Excellent communication and reporting skills
