As a Senior Project Manager in our Infrastructure area, you'll take ownership of planning and delivering high-impact IT infrastructure projects aligned with client needs and business outcomes. You'll oversee cross-functional teams, manage technical and delivery risks, and ensure seamless execution across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid environments. Your expertise in infrastructure technologies and delivery leadership will be essential to supporting our sales teams, ensuring successful implementations, and enhancing our reputation as a trusted technology partner.

Skills and experiences

Deep understanding of infrastructure project delivery, including areas such as cloud platforms (especially Azure), networking, identity & access management, endpoint management, and hybrid cloud.

Experience managing projects involving infrastructure modernization, such as cloud migrations, Microsoft 365 rollouts, Windows Virtual Desktop, or security upgrades.

Strong grasp of contract management, scope control, and stakeholder engagement in infrastructure environments.

Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow) and methodologies (Agile, Scrum, ITIL, PMP).

Familiarity with performance tracking tools and frameworks, including Earned Value Management for infrastructure delivery.

Proven ability to lead cross-functional technical teams, including engineers, architects, and operations staff.

PMI PMP certification and / or technical certifications in Azure infrastructure or IT service management (e.g., ITIL, AZ-104, AZ-305) are a plus.

What you'll do

Lead the end-to-end delivery of infrastructure-focused programs and projects, including cloud transitions (Azure), workplace modernization (M365), network upgrades, and data center transformations.

Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and risks using formal change and governance frameworks.

Create and maintain detailed project work plans and implementation strategies tailored to technical infrastructure environments.

Collaborate closely with client stakeholders, technical architects, and internal delivery teams to ensure alignment and effective execution.

Drive the integration of delivery best practices for infrastructure (e.g., ITIL, Agile, DevOps, or Waterfall where applicable).

Support resource planning, onboarding, and performance management for project team members (internal and subcontracted).

Contribute to the sales cycle by defining infrastructure-specific project estimates, timelines, and resource models using Avanade's standard tools and methodologies.
