We are looking for a Finance Director to join our 5‑star hotel in Dreams Madeira Resort Spa & Marina, located in the stunning Madeira Island!

What we need

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
• Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
• CPA, ACCA, TOC or equivalent certification.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, preferably in hospitality or tourism sectors.
• Experience in international operations, multi‑entity environments, and multinational corporate structures.
• Fluent in Portuguese and English; Spanish is also desirable.
• Excellent leadership, conflict resolution, and communication skills.
• Strategic thinking and financial acumen.
• Ability to manage complexity and drive change.
• Integrity, discretion and independent judgement.
• Proficiency in hotel management systems (Opera, Avalon), and ERP software (Primavera, MS Business Central/Dynamics).
• Flexibility to travel occasionally for business or audits.
• Knowledge of local and national tax regulations

Main Responsibilities and Duties

• Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes.
• Oversee accounting, treasury, tax, and compliance functions.
• Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with business goals.
• Manage relationships with investors, banks, auditors, and regulatory institutions.
• Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and capital structure.
• Provide strategic recommendations to hotel management and ownership.
• Lead financial aspects of expansion, renovations, and capital projects.
• Implement financial systems and digital transformation initiatives.
• Build and mentor high‑performing finance teams.
• Take action in all matters related to the safety, security, satisfaction and wellbeing of hotel guests.
