Linguist (Portuguese—Portugal) – Contract, Remote

We’re looking for a Portuguese linguist to support language data work focusing on phonetic transcription . You’ll help ensure high-quality annotations and linguistic consistency across tasks.

Responsibilities :

Perform phonetic transcription (IPA or similar) of PT-PT audio / text
Annotate and review language data for accuracy and consistency
Apply style guides and project rules; flag edge cases
Collaborate with the lead linguist / PM on quality feedback

Requirements :

Native-level fluency in Portuguese (Portugal)

Phonetic transcription experience — coursework in phonetics / phonology at university counts

Strong attention to detail; comfortable with deadlines and checklists

Ability to work independently in a remote setting

Schedule & commitment (please read)

5 hours must be completed between the 1st and 10th of each month

Plus ~1 hour per week for the rest of the month

This is a very part-time role, intended to be long-term and consistent

Hours are generally flexible within those windows

Compensation :

$20USD per hour
