Production Planning Manager

CTR / Hayco is a multinational manufacturing company looking for a Production Planning Manager to join our Supply Chain team in Portugal.

The Production Planning Manager manages the planning team to work out production planning based on the unit's installed capacity and production specifications, drive solutions to production issues, capacity constraints and material shortages to achieve in full- and on-time delivery to customers, according to demand and order priority.

Job Responsibilities :

Plan and manage the production plan, assess production needs (equipment, materials and human resources), ensure that the plan is implemented, monitor its achievement and make any adjustments deemed necessary, in order to guarantee that customer orders are met on time and that resources and means of production are correctly allocated

Manage a team of production planners to support daily operations and customers’ needs.

Monitor production schedules, hold daily meetings with the teams involved in the process and notify internal customers of delays and interruptions

Check capacity analysis and recommend solutions to eliminate capacity constraints to meet demand.

Work closely with customer service department on building production schedule and MPS

Review the master production schedule (MPS) and balance the production plan based on order priority to ensure all orders can be produced on time.

Drive improvements in MPS management to ensure a stable plan

Lead and manage new product introductions (NPI), cost reduction projects, and improvement initiatives from the production planning perspective. Participate and provide status and solution for the possible risks, and provide the information requested in the stage of the process (gate readiness).

Chair daily production meetings to settle issues that happened in production.

Optimize the inventory for WIP (Semi-Finished Goods)

Control the semi-finished goods (WIP) material to the lowest level possible and avoid creating excess & obsolete.

Job Requirements :

A minimum of 8 years proven working experience, and at least 5 years in managerial position on site role, in manufacturing companies; FMCG, home retail, fashion working experience will be a plus. Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM) will be a plus.

Experienced supply chain planning professional with advanced technical and professional knowledge.

Experience in high mix low volume & insight knowledge to deal with high speed turnover production planning

Demonstrated expertise in Material requirements planning and Master production Scheduling. Experience and comfort using Planning and Scheduling ERP tools (i.e. SAP, PHC)

Able to perform job responsibility independently as a senior lead, and coach the sr. staff

Good leadership skills and proactive attitude with continuous improvement mindset

Excellent analytical, problem solving and negotiation skills

Good team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to priorities tasks and deals effectively with unplanned situations, proven strong attention to detail.

Excellent English, bachelor's degree in supply chain, Operations, Business, or other related discipline
